BEST IN SPECIALTY
NOREENA SEERY with Midnight Blue Kennel BLACK JACK

Obedience:
Unfortunately, we only had one qualifier this year. Kudos to Karin Schoeler and her Sophie, Can. Am. Ch. Mijeans Only Fools Rush In, C.D. who earned a nice score in Novice “C”.
Sophie and Karin hadn’t been in the Obedience ring for 3 years so they were having fun performing.

Hopefully next year will see more successful teams.

Best Overall Junior Handler:

Courtney Penner from Open Senior. None of the 6 classes had Juniors who own Irish but all did a marvelous job. Our judge was our ISCC’s Eastern Canada Junior Handling Director, Noreena Seery, who helped all participants by giving constructive tips and kudos after judging. All entrants were girls and all were impressed at how gentle our dogs were, even if they weren’t used to big dogs. Hats off to those that lent their Irish to the handlers to use.

Performance Award:
This year we were pleased to present the Performance Award to Can. Am. Ch. Mijean’s Only Fools Rush In CD, owned and shown by Karin Schoeler. Sophie earned her trophy and rosette for acquiring points in both Obedience and Conformation. As Sophie had been very ill after acquiring an infection last year, this was a very special and emotional win for Karin and her friends.

Thank you for the hard working Committee for a great Specialty. Exhibitors enjoyed themselves and the judges did too and seeing our beautiful Redheads on that grass was wonderful. As our breed judge said, “Now, take them out from the shade to the grass because there is no lovelier sight.”

Current as of 13 August 2008
