Winnipeg’s Maple Leaf Classic 2008

Winnipeg, MB is the place to be on August 8 and 9.  It is already the geographic centre of Canada and it is poised to become the centre of the universe, at least in the Irish Setter world (is there any other universe of importance?)
Our National Specialty will be held in conjunction with Manitoba Canine Association (MCA) All-Breed Show to be held August 7 to 10.  In addition to our specialty there will be 4 all-breed shows plus a Manitoba Sporting Dog Specialty.  So this is an opportunity to pick up lots of points.

Conformation will be Saturday August 9 with Judge Jean McErlane from Auckland, New Zealand.  She is an all-breed judge who has judged in the United States, England, Ireland, Malaysia, Canada, Thailand, India, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Chile and in all states of Australia.  Ms. McErlane was appointed to the NZKC Judges Panel of Examiners in 1998 and is a Supervising Examiner for NZKC.  She has bred and exhibited Labrador Retrievers, Dalmatians, Cocker Spaniels, Bichon Frise, St. Bernards, Pointers and Smooth-coated Fox Terriers.

Our Specialty Obedience Trial will be held Friday August 8 in the morning (pending approval).  Additionally, there will be 4 All-Breed Obedience Trials.

Sweeps will be held Friday August 8 in the afternoon with Judge Kim Hamel of Winnipeg.  Ms. Hamel is a permit judge.

Canine Good Neighbour tests will be available as well as Junior Handling.

Camping will be available.

Plan to join us for an awesome dinner, our Annual General Meeting, an educational seminar, and lots of fun.

If you have never been to Winnipeg you must come.  It is a great city with lots to see and do.
