EN MEMOIRE - GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Our Irish companions do not live forever and sadly we must say goodbye but that does not mean that they are forgotten. This page and those linked to it are designed to help us all remember those that we have lost as daily companions. If you would like your departed Irish to be remembered here send an e-mail to the webmaster

ripley

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Runwild Sweet Savannah Daydream, who we all knew and loved as Ripley.

Ripley crossed the rainbow bridge on Sept. 29, with Madi, Lily Lynne and Denis close by.

We wish to thank the Glouchester Animal Hospital for their kind and gentle care. And we would also like to thank Connie and Mike O'brien at Silverstone Kennel, for taking such good care of our girl over the years. Silverstone was her second home, and she loved it there-- so many red friends to play with.

Much Beloved v  Best Friend

Just My Dog

  He’s just my dog.

He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds

My other ears that can hear above the winds.

He has told me more than a thousand times over

That I am his reason for being, by the way he rests against my leg

By the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile,

By the way he shows his hurt when I leave.

When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive.

When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile.

When I am happy, he is joy unbounded.

When I am a fool, he ignores it

When I succeed, he brags.

Without him, I am only another person.

With him, I am all powerful.

He has taught me the meaning of devotion is loyalty itself.

With him, I know the secret comfort and a private peace.

He has brought me understanding, where before I was ignorant.

His head on my knee can heal my human hurts.

His presence by my side is protection against my fears,

Of dark and unknown things.

He has promised to wait for me

Whenever …

Wherever …

In case I need him.

And I expect I will,

As I always have.

Who is he?

He’s just …

My Dog!

All too soon we have had to say goodbye to our very special boy. Redlin was the joy of our life from the moment we picked him up. When ever anyone said he is pretty lively I would answer , it is in the standard " rollicking personality".
Only thing is Redlin thought it said "rocking personality. He held onto my hand when we walked around the property and never was far from sight. If someone was in my lap and he decided he should be there he would just climb up, sit on them and squish them out of the way. He knew that of there was something in a crate that he had a fancy to , he knew that somehow those two "thingys" needed to be squeezed with his mouth to open the lock, he just never got that all he had to do after that was pull. He loved to show and loved the attention he received from everyone. Those who did not acknowledge him, never heard the
giant sighs of disappoint from him after they went by.His theme song was " Its all right to be a Redneck" and he lived by it every
day of his life.We loved him beyond words and we miss him beyond words. We now have a huge gaping hole in our hearts and in our lives that can never be filled.

Goodbye to our "Bugga Boy",God does definitely not know what he is in for this time!!

Riley

Two years ago this month, we arranged to take a 9 year old rescue named Riley who was being given up by his owners.Riley was a delight from the moment he stepped out of the shipping crate and into our hearts.
Unfortunately, Riley developed diabetes and in February, on the advice ofour veterinarian, we had to have him humanely put down. Our hearts arebroken. He was with us just two years and we had so hoped we'd have him with
us for much longer. I'm just writing to let you know that participating in the rescue was such a positive experience for us. Riley was a lovely boy, well-mannered, gentle, and a great companion for our other rescued red-head Emma, who came to us
when she was 6 years old. We all miss him very very much. Thank you for giving us the chance to give Riley his "forever" home.

Clancy

Just wanted to let you know that we had to say goodbye to our beloved Clancy on Tuesday,  Even now as I tell you my heart is aching and my tears are flowing.  James and the girls are also devastated at having to say goodbye.

He was humanely euthanized by Dr. Colin Peace and spent his last few days being pampered even more so than usual.  His last 15 minutes were spent in a field gazing at horses, enjoying the cool breeze and feeling the love of his family.

Adopting Clancy was the best thing the Gregory family ever did.  He brought such joy to our family.  He will be sorely missed and never forgotten.  Thank you so much for giving us the privilege of sharing our lives with our amazing boy.

We are happy that the ISCC allowed us to have him too.

Thanks again for everything.  James says we will be in touch before long to see about getting acompanion for Sam.   First we need to hold on to our memories of Clancy and let the pain of losing him heal.

Best regards,
Cheryl and James Gregory and family
