Nationals’ Obedience Trial

 

High in Trial was earned by Ann Keen and her girl “Arwen”, Ch. Saxonhall Velvet Evenstar in her Obedience debut and from the Novice A Class.

 

We had 1 Passing Score in PCD (Pre-Novice, which is a recognized title with CKC)

Earned by Russell’s Kelly Green, handled by his owner Donna Long for their first leg.

 

Unfortunately only 1 Veteran dog qualified. Palarset Quincy’sGloriousmemory CD FDJ , at 12 ½ yrs young., with his owner Gloria Stelting.

 

  Congrats to all, including those that tried and just came up a bit short.

       Arwen and Donna’s boy also earned their 2^nd legs during the w/e so only 1 to go for each of them.

 

 

                                      ISCC’s 2 Rally Trials

 

     Thanks to a lot of work from member Lynn Pope, we were able to hold our very first All-Breed Rally Trails during our Nationals’ weekend. It was a great success and Irish Setters did very well the whole weekend, with 6 Rally Trials a/v in total.

     I had never done any Rally before but the required/suggested walk through of the course before each Class was a big help. HOWEVER, it is a good idea to know the rules because I lost a LOT of points for both our girls through handler error. But we had fun anyway and the fact that you can talk to your partner throughout the course sure helped. Much more “relaxing” than Obedience.

   For the 2  ISCC All-Breed Trials, Irish qualifiers were:

     From Novice A:

Trooper was HIT for the first Rally Trial and Aubrey was HIT for the second. How neat to see the Irish top the classes and Trial.

 

In the other Trials, Marian’s “Aubrey” qualified in all Trials with 2 more High in Class and 1 HIT. Her first title at 16 months old and having the time of her life.

“Lucky” also passed her 2 other Trails, as did her other dog, handled by her son. Paul who made a big impression on the other exhibitors and spectators as his dog was almost as tall as he is. But they worked well as a team. So new titles for both of her dogs.

Margaret Powers’ girl Kheali, Ch.Kulana Babbling Brooke CDX RA CGN passed the 2^nd leg of her Rally Excellent so almost there.

My “Nova”, Ch. Palarset’NRussell’s Innovation, passed for her first leg once I knew which side of the signs to stay on and I relaxed more.
