IRISH SETTER CLUB OF CANADA

EN MEMOIRE - GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Reagan O'Hagen was a 43 years old when she passed away from cancer. She fought a huge, long battle but did not win. Most of the old time Irish people on the West Coast have watched Reagan grow-up showing dogs.

Reagan  and her parents Fred and Rose Wilson have bred Irish Setters under the Darkisle Kennel for 20+ years. Not a huge breeding kennel but more known for the large numbers in a few litters. Reagan started in Junior Handling at 13 with a very bad behaved Irish Setter bitch named Jamie and learned "on the run" as too say. Reagan finished a dozen or more Darkisle Irish Setters over the years. Owning Am/Can CH Redmeath Keepin the Beat (Scarlet) and seeing what Scarlet's children achieved, definitely made Reagan extremely proud. Whippets were Reagan's second breed, she did very well producing some Group winning whippets, over the years, also under the Darkisle Kennel name.

Tho’ my soul may set in darkness

I will rise in perfect light

For I’ve loved the stars too dearly

To be frightened of the night
